The Road to Emmaus

This treatise is 50 pages and is an introduction to the other religious books by author George M. Papa.   This small book focuses on the restoration of Christ’s original New Testament Church, which began in 1820, and is a series of essays and commentary on a number of topics that the author feels would be of interest to any person who seeks knowledge regarding religion.

To understand religion, one must understand God and Christ.  As shown in this book, Jesus Christ was the first-born spirit child of our Heavenly Parents, after they completed their own mortal sojourn on their planet eons ago, before this earth was formed.  After Christ was born to them, then billions of other precious spirits (us) were also born to them in the Pre-Existence.  Jesus was our oldest brother.  He was the most intelligent, loyal and obedient of all.

In our former existence, we were only spirits. We must be grateful that God chose Jesus to be the one to create and to bring to pass this planet earth, under the direction of God.  This was done so that all of us, including Jesus, could gain experience and advance by this test of our faith and obedience.

At our birth onto this earth, all of our remembrance of our previous life with God was temporarily removed, so this earth life would be a true test of our worthiness.  By passing this test of keeping God’s commandments, which is called Final Judgment, we can become gods and goddesses ourselves, as did our heavenly parents before us.  This is The Plan of Eternal Progression.

All of us have waited a long time for this earth test, with all of its choices, challenges, temptations and other obstacles, to show God what we are made of within the framework of obedience, repentance and forgiveness.  This entire purpose is to ultimately be worthy to return to our Heavenly Parents and to become deities as they are, in order to also bring to pass other yet unborn spirits to do the same, which God our Father and our Heavenly Mother are now doing for us.  There is no end of space or the formation of new galaxies.

The paradigm and performance as to keeping the commandments, covenants and ordinances of a higher being is called Religion, or Church.  The key question is this: which of all the thousands of beliefs is the true Church, which will actually lead one back to God?  Only one is true.  God is not a God of confusion.  Nevertheless, Satan’s counterfeits encircle the globe.

There are only two types of churches.  One is the single Church of Jesus Christ, which receives revelation and authority from God, through Jesus, for the eternal exaltation of man.  All the rest are mere inventions of Satan and man, which are not the full path to God because they are void of the true revelation, commandments and the necessary divine covenants of exaltation.

Why does author George Papa mention “subtle Satan” and “false church” in the same paragraph? Satan delights when the children of God are deceived by the craftiness of men, and thus fall short of their true eternal destiny.

For example: consider baptism, by immersion, in the name of God, for the remission of sin.  If a self-elevated minister of a false church does not have God’s proper authority – as explained in this book – to perform a true baptism, then that baptism is not sanctioned by God, Christ or the Holy Ghost, and there is no remission of sin.   Wow!   Such a fatal flaw cannot be ignored.

It was Jesus who called and inspired the prophets of the Old Testament, and was known as Jehovah to them.  Christ then took his turn to be born into mortality at Bethlehem.  At age 33, Christ was crucified and resurrected three days later. His sacrifice provided automatic resurrection for all, and the remission of sin for all those who will believe, are properly baptized and do endure to the end. Much more is explained in this free book entitled: The Road to Emmaus. Emmaus was a small village only 7 miles NW of Jerusalem.  Along this way, the resurrected Jesus gave many instructions to two of his Apostles, Peter and John, on the same day of Christ’s resurrection.   Enjoy.

Jesus often spoke of eternal and divine life with God, after this earthly probation. For example, beginning at St. John, Chapter 10, verse 22:

22. And it was at Jerusalem the feast of the dedication, and it was winter.

23. And Jesus walked in the temple in Solomon’s porch.

24. Then came the Jews round about him, and said unto him, How long dost thou make us to doubt: If thou be the Christ, tell us plainly.

25. Jesus answered them, I told you, and ye believed not: the works that I do in my Father’s name, they bear witness of me.

26. But ye believe not, because ye are not of my sheep, as I said unto you.

27. My sheep hear my voice, and I know them, and they follow me:

Note, this is a profound statement. The “honest in heart who seek the truth about God and life eternal, will recognize the true words of Jesus and they will accept those words, and will live them, and not oppose them or fight against that truth, when they hear it.

28. And I give unto them eternal life; and they shall never perish, neither shall any man pluck them out of my hand.

29. My Father, which gave them me, is greater than all; and no man is able to pluck them out of my hand.

30. I and my Father are one.

This is another profound statement. With boldness, Jesus proclaims that God, Elohim, is his actual father, and he meant it because it was true.

Many people, including reverends, ministers, preachers, etc., think that Christ was merely an invention, who may have been crucified, then was amplified by legend to come alive again, to epitomize the ideal of benevolence, which all should emulate as an ode to an unseen God.

When Christ was born, Mary was his mother. However, Joseph who was betrothed to Mary, was not the father of Jesus. Instead, God, who is likewise the father of our spirits too, was also the“man, makest thyself God.

34. Jesus answered them, Is it not written in your law, I said, Ye are gods?

Wow! This was an in-your-face slam-dunk reprimand! Not only did Christ say he was a god, but in addition, he also said that all people on earth were in fact embryonic gods and thus had the potential to become gods too.

Moreover, this was not just Jesus saying so at the moment, but in addition at a previous time, Jesus Christ, in his spirit form before he took his turn to be physically born into this world, also instructed the same doctrine of godship for the worthy somewhere in the law of the Old Testament.

What Jesus was therefore telling these pious Jews was something they were supposed to already know, and understand, and believe, and live towards, but they were oblivious, hardened and could not see or understand it.

Okay, where in the Old Testament Law does it say that all men, and women, can also attain deityship?

The 82nd Psalm, verses 1- 6 states as follows:

1. God standeth in the congregation of the mighty; he judgeth among the Gods. (there are many gods[“37. If I do not the work of my Father, believe me not.

38. But if I do, though ye believe not me, believe the works: that ye may know, and believe, that the Father is in me, and I in him.

39. Therefore, they sought again to take him: but he escaped out of their hand.

40. And went away again beyond Jordan into the place where John at first baptized; and there he abode.

Each dot on the next page is a galaxy, and there are billions of other galaxies beyond these. This is the awesome realm of all the gods, which our God, even Elohim, is glorified upon our honorable entrance into this sphere.

Such exaltation can only occur upon obedience. Such is always the case when any child matures to take his or her place in higher society. Here, higher society is Eternal Divinity, after the successful probation of this earth.”
